Hello!

1. I had a 60 days tourist visa which i got renewed for 30 days at Chiang Mia

2. I was refused to do a visa run at the border with Myanmar because of my passport ( EL Salvador)

3. Several people and immigration told me to go Laos to get a new tourist visa. I already have the appointment foe the 18th.

4. My flight leaves the 9th of June from Chiang Mai.

My question is if this a safe and good plan for me and that they wont refuse my new application for a new tourist visa to come back and leave from chiang mai. Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user shares their experience of having a 60-day tourist visa extended by 30 days but facing issues with visa runs due to their Salvadoran passport. They plan to travel to Laos to apply for a new tourist visa before their flight on June 9. Commenters stress the importance of meeting visa requirements at the Thai consulate in Vientiane and advise on necessary documentation and processing times.

AND on that note we're done.. What this isn't gonna turn into is a "what does vientiane require" post. GO to the website read it, follow it, meet the requirements, get the visa, don't meet them or try to get around their requirements and you'll have issues

Also they speak GREAT english there, CALL them and ask them

Keep in mind
@Karla *******
that the thai consulate in Vientiane takes 3 WORKING days to issue visas,

SO

if you apply on the morning of the 18th you will not be able to get your passport back until the 22nd (Monday afternoon).

Go to the website of the thai consulate in Vientiane, read the requirements the tourist visa. Meet the requirements to the letter and you'll get the visa

you need the bank statement,

you need proof you're FLYING out of thailand in 60 days from the date you apply for the visa (proof you're going back to your country is better than just proof you're flying to a nearby country)

and

you need proof you have confirmed lodging for the whole 60 days you will get stamped in on the tourist visa

That is a NO NONSENSE thai consulate, you meet the requirements you get the visa, you don't meet them they'll turn you away.

The proof of residence Tod is informing you is when you come back to Chiang Mai, proof that you have a place of stay to present at the Th Emb in Laos.
@Karla *******
Right,
@Tod ********
?

@Wilhelmina *******
you're partially correct, proof of residence is a TM30 form, but you meant to say proof of accommodation, which would be a booked hotel etc for when they return to Thailand.
Tod *********
@Wilhelmina *******
nope, nothing to do with each other

The TM30 you file when you COME BACK to thailand will NOT work for proof of where you're staying when you apply for a visa in Vientiane,

READ the requirements listed on the website for proof of lodging if you're staying at a private residence and you meet them OR they'll make you book a hotel while you're standing there at the Vientiane Embassy for the duration of your trip to thailand

@Tod ********
do you know if they require proof of payment like Malaysia, or confirmation of booking for your duration is fine?

@Phuc *****
have to ask them when you're there.

Sadly for you
@Karla *******
you are from a country that has to HAVE a valid visa to get IN.

You didn't do a "visa run" at the border with Myanmar because you can't GET visas at the border. πŸ™ You tried to bounce out and back to get a free stamp <- but you're NOT from a country that gets free stamps on entry.. πŸ˜•

You can go to a thai consulate in nearby country in the area and apply for a single entry tourist visa. That will get you stamped in for 60 days when you come back and you can extend that once for 30 like you did before at the immigration office for 1900baht
