Can someone help with a few questions regarding a 1 tourist visa, i will be going to Laos to apply for this.

1.Can you only get this visa in Vientiane?

2.How long does it take to get?

3.What do need to apply for this 1 tourist visa?

Hi Boba, since you have already a multiple entry visa this year I recommend to ask the embassy or consulate which docs you will need. Renting contract or room booking confirmation and may be a flight ticket or ticket confirmation could be necessary. At least the consulate in Kota Bharu asked me for this 3 weeks ago. But it depends on the embassy or consulate where you apply. They decide their rules and requirements. A call before going to them could be helpful.

Keep in mind that the thai consulate in Vientiane does NOT require proof of funds, proof of onward travel OR proof of a hotel booking (even though their website says they do).

People post on here for up to date information and we have contributors from all over thailand who use the consulates regularly.

Yes very true Heinz, would prefere the Visa as I only need the 60 day but if they refuse then will come back on an 30 day Visa exempt on arrival

Thanks for the info Heinz, as far as I know in Vientiane I just need 2 passport photos, form filled in, passport, money in the bank, flight back home to the UK & accomadation where I am staying, that’s what’s it says on the website, if anyone else has been to Vientiane this year to apply for a 1 tourist visa any other info would be much appreciated unless I have everything covered already.

You can apply for a Tourist Visa at every Thai Consulate or Embassy, some Embassies/Consulates have list of prohibited countries. Not every Embassy/Consulate has the same requirements needed to apply for this Visa. So first question is what is the country of origin of your passport?

2 days. I.e. apply morning of day 1, you get it back afternoon of day 2

For those who are allowed to apply, application is in the morning and pick up passport and visa next working day in the afternoon.
