In the Pre-Covid world people would jump between Thai Embassies/Consulates to get a 60 day SETV for back to back to back visas...they would rotate between Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore...it might still work or all the embassies/consulates might be connected online to each other...but hey if you don't try the answer is always no

That was already becoming a problem to do 6 or 7 years ago. Many consulates, particularly Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and even Vientiane, would limit you to 1, 2 or 3 back to back tourist visas obtained through them or overall. The first 3 have long been rather strict.

I think most people have short memories.

I think yes covid changed everything. All government needs money. So they need that 1000 baht as well.Laos before covid it was 2000 baht. They reduced price. Also now 45days reduced back to 30days.I think they are making easier than before some of things.

No, Covid didn't change things. It was already becoming a problem to do what Jeremy stated in 2016 or 2017. The military coup in 2014 is what changed policy, but even prior to that, Thai immigration was starting to become tougher. I recall there used to be a 4 times visa exempt entry limit per calendar year already in early 2013, for land based arrivals. Back then you only received a 15 day visa waiver if coming by land. Now it's down to 2 entries per year if coming overland, though you do get 30 days per entry AND you can now extend each entry by 30 days, which previously wasn't possible.

They can apply for 300. Whether they’d get a 3rd or 300th is up to the embassy/consulate.

I really can’t say for sure. You can apply in Malaysia (probably better in Penang than KL but that’s debatable).

Having a tourist visa issued by a consulate/embassy is no guarantee of entry. Usually you stand a much better chance of doing so, but it’s up to the immigration officer you hand your passport to at the border entry point (air, land or sea) to either allow or deny.

With an extensive history make sure you have the “three proofs” that you may be asked for. 20k baht or equivalent in cash (bank statements or credit cards don’t count), booked accommodation and a ticket out of Thailand within the amount of days allowed by your entry method - ie 30 days on exempt or 60 days with a visa.

99% (a made up figure by me) of tourists will never be asked for these but with an extensive entry history you may well be. They’re the three reasons why you could possibly be denied entry. If you have them you may not be, but that’s no guarantee.

From my understanding and experience, I've never seen anyone being asked for funds at a land border crossing, though some, such as Aranyaprathet, have been known for issuing denials to serial visa exempt entrants.

At airports, proof of funds are sometimes requested from travelers that immigration officers don't believe are genuine visitors.

I have. At this particular crossing they won’t let you out if they think you can’t get back in. They needed to see 20k in cash. Fortunately as you’re still on the Thai side you can just pop to the ATM….

If you didnt get the dreaded red stamp in Laos then you should be fine for another Tourist visa. But be aware the visa doesn't guarantee entry into Thailand.

You can always apply for another one. Whether or not they approve your application is another thing. You might be able to get one more, or they might reject this one. You're getting very close to the point of being denied entry even if you have a visa either way.

Thank you Brandon.

the agent volunteer visas are no longer a thing. It's become almost impossible to get a real volunteer visa because of everything. And having a volunteer visa at all in your passport causes many issues now.
Stuart *********
That will be between you and the embassy/consulate you apply at. Even if you have your third tourist visa it’s not a guarantee they’ll let you in to the country (although very unlikely they won’t).

in this case it doesn't matter if i enter by land or air?

If you have a tourist visa you can enter via air, land or sea. Whether you’d be questioned on entry is anyone’s guess. Probably less likely via land.

If you are Moroccan as your profile suggests then you do indeed need a tourist visa to enter.
