What do you upload for travel confirmation for the 3 month single entry tourist visa if you don’t have bus tickets yet and are entering by land crossing.

Traveler has a departure ticket from Chiang Mai in May but plans to enter Thailand through Laos at the end of February and will go by private car to the border.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The traveler is inquiring about what travel confirmation documents to upload for a 3-month single entry tourist visa if they do not have bus tickets and plan to enter Thailand through a land border. The discussion highlights that applying for an eVisa from outside the home country can lead to rejection, and that a visit to a Thai consulate in Laos is necessary for obtaining the visa. It is noted that entry through Laos typically grants only 30 days unless the visa is applied for correctly, and extensions are possible at local immigration offices.

The visa is valid for three months, meaning that's for how long it qualifies you for entering. But you then get 60 days in the country. So most would call it a 60 days visa. You can then extend to 90.

If I understand your message you are applying for an evisa whilst outside of your home country which is something you can’t do and will likely result in the application being rejected.

If applying whilst outside/not departing from your home country you have to apply in person at an embassy/consulate. Best to check with the individual embassy as some you have to book an appointment but typically takes2-3 days to process from experience.

In order for the "traveller" to get a 60 day tourist visa in Laos the will need to visit a Thai consulate in Laos and apply for one. If all they're doing is crossing the border and returning they will only get 30 days. Both can be extended by 30 days at their local immigration office.

Not sure I understand your question. 😕

It sounds like you're applying for a eVisa from a thai consulate in your country. 🙁

Which is something you can't do because you have to show air fare from your country TO thailand.

At most of the thai consulates in border countries to get a tourist visa you don't have to show how you're getting IN to thailand, just that you're leaving in 60 days.

This is the notice on the Thai Consulate in London's website about people using the eVisa system NOT being in the UK when they apply.
