As bob Dylan once said " the times they are a changing" two phone calls from Bangkok Bank today looking for Mr Tony, I'm clearly not Mr Tony then later on that day yet another phone call this time with the correct name. The reason for the phone calls, were to kindly ask me to attend the bank with my yellow book drivers licence and pink I'd card, to update my account details. This is surely a better approach than suspending accounts without any warning. Which begs the question, is a yellow book and I'd card the new rule of the week? It appears so.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation highlights recent phone calls from Bangkok Bank urging account holders to visit the bank with a yellow book and pink ID card to update their details. Many expats expressed concern that these documents are not commonly held by foreigners, particularly as yellow books are linked to condo ownership. Some users suggested switching banks due to dissatisfaction with Bangkok Bank's practices, while others recounted similar experiences with other banks.
It baffles me that a bank can be so oblivious to how they are making themselves look. Like a circus… run by some random drive through workers who got lucky. Like who does things this way 😅

Idiots here said that Yellow Book is irrelevant for anything.
🙂 I did it two months ago. But like I said at least they are calling and asking for us to come in to update details. Many people have been shut down with no explanation.

Foreigners can't get a yellow book unless they own a condo same goes with a pink card they're issued hand in hand. I really can't see this becoming a industry requirement but if in fact it does it will definitely affect many many people
they can if they are married to a Thai without owning a condo. The yellow book will be linked to the same property as their spouses blue book. I'm not sure how many people bother getting one that way though and also do not see this as any industry standard.
understood. Just pointing out that one does not need to own a condo either. There are multiple ways to obtain one. Condo or spouse are two I'm aware of. Sounds like there are others as well.
