Hello. I have been informed that the Satun boarder is no longer permitting bounces and the requirement from 1 Jan 2020 is that re-entry is not permitted for 24 hours. Is this the case at all boarders now and does it affect entries by air?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The situation regarding re-entry rules varies by each specific border crossing. As of January 1, 2020, some borders are reportedly enforcing a 24-hour rule before re-entering Thailand, but this is not universal across all borders. Travel by air does not appear to be affected by these new rules. However, it is advisable to check the specific border crossing you plan to use, as some borders may have different regulations in place.

It is totally 100% dependent on THAT specific border crossing. It is NOT a universal rule by any means.

It seems prevalent with some of the Cambodia/Thai borders AND some of the Malaysia/Thai borders.

My advice to people is GOOGLE the border you're thinking of bouncing out and back in at <- That action is what is making them keep people in the neighboring country for 24 hours.

yesterday we had a report that it was a new rule from Thai Immigration. As Thai Immigration did not made any announcements of changes in the police orders, i would say it it still the same old visarun company game. For some extra money the drivers arrange a quick border run. But I will keep my eyes open for official announcements and ask everybody, please make a picture of the announcement if placed on the walls, even when it is a rule of the Malaysian Government. Or when you are told ask a copy of this new rule and number of the Police Order.

Who informed you of that information?

Not for all border. No for travel by air.
