If we wanted to spend three months a year initially and possibly longer in the future, as a UK passport holder I get 60 day visa exemption which I can extend by 30 days in Thailand. Are there immigration offices outside Bangkok? I'm 65 and my wifey is Chinese - and they get 90 days anyway. Looking at hua hin and khao lak for a month each this year.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, there are many immigration offices outside of Bangkok, including in Hua Hin and Khao Lak, where you can apply for a 30-day visa extension. Thailand has over 80 immigration offices nationwide that handle these applications.

Immigration Offices in every province. 30 days extensions have to be applied for and are granted at the discretion of the Immigration Officer, they're not a given

You simply use the immigration office that handles TM.30 registrations for your area, based on the address reported by your hotel or landlord. Thailand has more than 80 immigration offices nationwide.
