I’m looking at leasing or buying land in Ko Phangan with an existing bungalow, with the view to build 2 more and rent out.

Some questions :-

1) I understood I can lease and form a company but I have now read that Thai gov changed the law in October 2022 and I can own the land?

2) are there surveyors that can check the existing structure

3) any recommendations for an English speaking lawyer in Ko Phangan

4) any builder recommendations?

All other thoughts appreciated! I do property rental in the UK so I’m not a newbie but of course it’s very different here!

People on Ko Phangan 🌴 extending their stay after entering Thailand on a visa exemption - Please note that your hotel (or landlord, I guess) needs to complete an online document called TM.30 and upload a scan of your passport, and then they send you a document that you need to print, before you can apply for an extension for your visa. (Btw My hotel had a lot of difficulty getting the government app and the passport scan to work properly. The hotel knows how to use the app, but says it doesn't work well.)

I had a wasted trip to immigration as I did not know about this part of the procedure. This would have been a bigger issue if I'd left my visa extension until the last minute.

I don't know if this hotel document is a requirement in some other parts of Thailand too.

Edit: for people who are saying this is a standard procedure, I've never been asked for a document from my hotel when extending in Ko Samui. It had not occured to me that different immigration offices might have different requirements. Also, not all hotels ask to see your passport at check in.

P.s. apparently there is a room at the immigration office in Ko Phangan where you can have your photo taken. However, there is not a printer where you can print the TM 30. You need to do that independently elsewhere.

Question about getting the first covid extension in Ko Phangan...Do I need to provide a letter from my embassy/ print out of an embassy statement?

Also my current Tourist visa extension finishes on 24th Feb. How early can I go to apply for the covid extension? Does the date of the covid extension begin from the expiry of the Tourist visa? or from date of application? Will I lose days if I went early?

Hello guys, I have a question about visa - how does it work if I want to stay a week longer after my two months visa + one month extension? I've heard in the past you can just go to immigration and get another a week long stamp for 1900Baht. Does anyone have an experience with this? 👀🙏💛

Hey just wondering, has anyone done a 30-day visa extension in Koh Samui? How long did it take you. Will be staying on Ko Phangan. So wondering whether I need to catch a boat over for a few days to get the 30 day extension on my single entry visa. If anyone can also offer some advice on the quickest way to get an extension from Ko Phangan, that would be much appreciated. Cheers
