I entered Thailand on a non-IMM B (work visa) in November 2019, teaching at an International School. My visa and WP expired on June 16, 2020.

I had planned to return to the US before the expiration and return for the new school year on a Guardian Visa. (my kids are enrolled at an international school, and I'm following one of them)

Their student visas were successfully extended until June 2021.

My summer flight was cancelled, so I've been here since June on amnesty.

I was just able to transfer the required 500,000 baht to my Thai Bank account. As in it literally just hit my account today, July 15th.

#1 - Should I be able to convert from my non imm-b to a guardian visa without having to leave the country?

#2 - Due to the circumstances, do think there is any leniency with the requirement to have the 500,000 baht for 30 days? (It was suggested to me that maybe I just overstay the amnesty by 2 weeks to hit the 30 day mark, but I'm not overly comfortable with this.)

Any advice is appreciated!

Hi Everyone,

I have a few questions regarding the end of amnesty (31th July) deadline. Sorry if the questions were asked before.

1 - I am currently the owner of a Business Visa ( Nom-Imm B - 1y - multiple entries) valid until March 2021.

The last rules say that work permit holders are allowed to enter iThailand, but I don’t have one - So I would like to inquiry whether this Non-Imm B visa would be taken into consideration

2- I am still in Bangkok: is it possible to get an extension of stay ?

3- in Bangkok, where is the Immigration office ?

Thanks in advance your answers!

Hear ye, I hereby submit to the Oracle of Farang Visa matters for its most valuable wisdom regarding my visa. I coming off a Non-Imm B M-type, and plan on heading to Penang for a 30 day tourist visa.

1) According to the website, the consulate is not open for visa services after 12 noon. Is this really the case?

2) If I arrive Tues Apr 7 and submit info on Wed 8, can I get it wrapped up for a Friday 10th flight?

3) I have a new job offer but there is a hiring freeze so I have to wait it out in Bangkok. If I apply for a tourist visa in Penang coming from Thailand, are they going to ask for proof of a flight out?

4) Though I am not applying for any of the bank requirement type visas, I feel compelled to ask anyway: Will an updated bank book or credit card statement suffice for any request for financial eligibility?

5) Does banging one’s head against the wall make these Byzantine Imm Regs seem any less daunting or does it just leave a bloody stain on the stucco?

Any help is appreciated

Hello,

I entered Thailand as a US citizen on a NON-IMM O visa on October 21, 2019. In January I left and reentered on a single entry NON-IMM B Visa. I’m going to have to part ways with my employer three weeks earlier than expected.

I would like to leave the country and reenter on a 30 day Tourist visa then head home. Do you see any issues that may arise with this?

Also, is a departing airline ticket necessary to have at the border when reentering as a tourist?

Thanks in advance for your help.
