I'm so confused why they are asking for letter from company, etc... 

I selected freelance.

Where did you apply? Some embassies require the business registration of the companies you work for along with a letter giving you permission to work remotely I'm Thailand.

I had the same and I had already provided my business registration, tax etc. I’ve had the same client for 1.5 years so I just asked them for a copy of their letter from companies house and a supporting letter saying I can work remotely for them
