TLDR : Answer Summary
Chaeng Wattana immigration office will operate normally during the week, apart from Monday and Wednesday, which are closed due to holidays on the 26th and 28th. It's important for visitors seeking visa extensions to arrive when their current visas have three days or fewer remaining.

It is NOT business as usual anymore for Bangkok immigration. Bangkok Immigration wants a person to get a new extension of stay when there's 3 or less days remaining on the existing stamp.

- pardon my interest, but why do you need to cancel an extension? I feel like I'm eavesdropping in the middle of a conversation that is none of my business and that I know nothing about.

It is open as usual and if you need to get an extension you still have to go like normal

REMEMBER though there are TWO holidays next week (the 26th and the 28th) when immigrations is closed.

The immigration offices have NEVER closed since the lock down of the country last March 26th.

They did give amnesty <- let people overstay on their stamps for free with no penalty from the end of March to the end of October but the offices where still open.

then just take the correct documentation needed to cancel the extension go get it cancelled and then leave.

Most people have the cancel documentation written to say that the day you are leaving the country is the day you want the extension cancelled :) AND they go about a week before they leave the country to do it. Immigrations will cancel the current extension and give you a new stamp dated until the date on the paperwork you turned in. (that way you're not cancelling the extension and then leaving the country that very day) :)

, why not just get the documentation from your employer/school saying your last day is the 30th and GO this week to the immigration office and cancel the extension? They'll give you a new stamp until that date

you'll be fine then. I was just hoping you could do it before next week was all. There are TWO holidays next week (the 26th and the 28th) so it's gonna be a mad house there on the 29th and 30th
