I have been holding a workcation DTV visa for a year now and came back 4 times in that time period without any questions asked.
I'm seeing that more and more people get asked for 20k in cash. I'm currently in Vietnam because I had to leave after 6 months and will be back soon. I completely forgot to get cash before leaving and now I'm wondering if it's worth it get bleeded in Vietnam on atm withdrawal (they have a fee and you have to withdraw a lot of times as the limit seems quite low - I couldn't withdraw more than around 7k bahts per transaction) and most importantly I'll probably lose a few k on exchange rate here as they seem quite high.
Not sure what would be the best decision here. If anyone has a recent experience coming back with a DTV workcation in BKK airport that would be appreciated.
I went to Malaysia for 3 days and returned back. DMK airport. The officer only asked me to show my visa after I told him I have a DTV. I showed him the printed copy. Got 6 months entry stamp. No questions asked. Just a smile.
Just entered suvarnabhumi for the first time on DTV workcation. I have a extensive history of stays with tourist visas and exempts previously, since I have spent the cold months of Sweden in Thailand since 2015.
I showed my DTV printout, stamped in under a minute. Did not even need to show my TDAC. It was the smoothest entry ever for me. Thank you Thailand for this great visa! 🙏
Recent experience entering on my DTV visa 3rd entry. I was returning from Vientiane Laos by land before flying from Udon Thani Airport. During my land crossing I was asked to go to the back and see the supervisor. No questions about purpose of my trip just looked through passport and sent back. I walked to the back room sat down handed the supervisor my passport. He looked quickly and said do you have a visa? I said yes it's in my passport. Apparently both him and the first immigration missed the physical copy of my DTV inside my passport. I asked him to hand me my passport opened and showed him the DTV. He took my passport back stamped me and told me have a good trip. Zero questions about current activities or purpose of visit. I had my TDAC done as well and they didn't ask for my QR code. So all in all if they had seen my visa most likely would have just waved me in. Next time I'll just make sure my passport is open to the DTV page not my bio data page when I hand it to them.
I want to personally thank everyone in this group for your immensely useful and compassionate support and guidance throughout this tedious last few weeks of visa adventure lol. Just flew back into Thailand,
Immigration: "how long will you be staying on Thailand "
Me: hands over dtv visa email
Immigration: puts stamp on passport
Loving this! So nice to hear "Ka" and "kup" again lol
Hey, can you guys share your experience of entering on dtv? Just saw in a dtv group there have been instances of unwanted srutinization while entering on the dtv? Someone said they were asked to show all the docs, they used while applying. This would be very inconvenient given some of us applied physically and don't have all the docs handy.
