I would appreciate anyone sharing their experience working with the THAI VISA CENTER to obtain a non-o visa. I am presently in Thailand on my 30 day tourist extension. I do not want to fly all the way back to my home country (USA), but would be happy to fly to any S.E. Asia location that has a Thai embassy that will allow me to apply for a non-o. Thank you for any thoughts you care to share.
Well we were dreading flying back into CNX on our DTVs this time, having read a few horror stories. But we picked the smiley young woman and she probably was nice to us because we're over 60😃. It was a relief, particularly as we'd just returned from stressful family stuff. I guess if you stay positive and you're legit it will be ok.
Question about Thailand Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) Entry Requirements at the Airport
Hi all,
I was approved for Thailand’s 5-year digital nomad visa back in September 2024 but I haven’t entered the country yet. I plan to go soon and I already have the paper visa approval in hand — it has my photo and personal details (E-Visa).
My question is:
Do I need to present supporting documents again (like bank statements, income proof, insurance, etc.) when I arrive at the airport, even though the visa has already been granted?
It seems unnecessary to bring all the original documents again, but I’ve read mixed info online. Just want to know from others who entered with this visa — what was your experience at immigration? Do you need to show for example, proof of accomodations or bank info? Was anything asked of you?
I’m on DTV remote work, went on a 5 day trip to Vietnam (so called border bounce, instead of the documentation nightmare in immigration extension).
I come to the counter, and the following:
Officer- “how many days you plan to stay?”
Me - “around 90/120 days, still not sure.”
Officer - looks at me with strange look.
Me - I thought he think I’m tourist visa so I mention “I’m on DTV visa.”
Officer - “visa in nothing, I’m decide if you come or go. Where you go after Thailand”
Me - I have a booked trip to Hong Kong and then Dubai.
Officer - you don’t go home country? You don’t miss your mom or dad?
Me - not sure, I’m digital nomad, I travel and work on laptop.
Idk why I got the “tourist on 7th attempt to visa run” treatment while I do have the proper visa and everything is legit. I guess officer had sudden urge to flex he’s the boss?
Should I start considering elite visa? I do live in Thailand, have Gf, 4 cats, car - kinda bummer
