Question about Thailand Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) Entry Requirements at the Airport

Hi all,

I was approved for Thailand’s 5-year digital nomad visa back in September 2024 but I haven’t entered the country yet. I plan to go soon and I already have the paper visa approval in hand — it has my photo and personal details (E-Visa).

My question is:

Do I need to present supporting documents again (like bank statements, income proof, insurance, etc.) when I arrive at the airport, even though the visa has already been granted?

It seems unnecessary to bring all the original documents again, but I’ve read mixed info online. Just want to know from others who entered with this visa — what was your experience at immigration? Do you need to show for example, proof of accomodations or bank info? Was anything asked of you?

Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user who was approved for Thailand's Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) is inquiring if they need to present any supporting documents upon their arrival at the airport, despite already having the visa approval. Various community members shared their experiences, indicating it is generally not common for immigration officers to ask for additional documents. Most recommended bringing a copy of the DTV approval, passport, and boarding pass but noted that having original supporting documents like bank statements or proof of accommodation can be a good idea, just in case. Overall, it seems unlikely that additional documentation will be required, but being prepared can help ease concerns.

It is not common that the immigration stops to ask questions when entering. However, if you see from other posts, there are occasions when the officer asks questions regarding your visit. Several questions mentioned are what you are doing in Thailand and how you are supporting yourself.. etc.

You should be prepared with all the supporting documents used when you applied for the DTV visa, along with the answers to those questions that make the most sense to which DTV visa option you applied under. I.e. Workation or Thai Soft Power.

Overall what the officers are concerned about is how you can financially support yourself living in Thailand, and whether you could be in Thailand looking for work.

For most people, Show your visa (ideally a physical printout), passport and boarding pass if through an airport.

Don't need anything the DTV is recorded in the immagration system but carry a copy. Immagration will not ask anything if they do just smile and say thank you. Just check they stamp for 180 days before going some officers miscalculate

No you don't need to bring anything other than the copy of the dtv. Don't forget to do the tdac and have a safe trip!

I think chances are less 1 percent you will be asked, but as with all visa worldwide, it is a good idea to have all the documents with you. Just put them somewhere in the cloud and maybe also local on your phone, so you can access them when asked for it.

6 entries and not been asked to present anything or seriously questioned. I bring copies of my DTV docs just in case.
