The rest of the stuff is easy ( if good with computers ) , i thought i'd hve problems with proof of where i was staying as only booked for a week . But no sailed through .

Just a money making exercise by the looks of it .

for proof of staying, surface mail a finger, always works for me ..... it worked 8 times already, well two times more and then I don't qualify πŸ•Ά

Not sure what you mean by money making exercise? It's cheaper than the old way because you don't have to mail anything in and pay postage both ways.

It's also cheaper than applying for an extension in Thailand. It saves space in your passport as well. Better in every way.

said , don't seem bothered about it . Could have failed on the Hotel , would love to know if they even check . What i found most strange is the lack of a question on if you have a criminal record . Thought that would be high on the list .

Only for certain visas. But they still check for international warrants before you arrive regardless.
