Will my education visa remain valid even if my course finishes early in Thailand?

Hello all,

Was hoping for some advice. I am on a 12 month education visa but my course length is only 6 months. I will do my first 90 day check next week, but my school seem to think they will end my visa early as the visa is longer than my length of studies, and the school had to provide all this information before I got my ed visa. Obviously I would rather my visa continued to next July as it says in my passport, and not end in January when my course finishes. Anyone had experience with this? I am quite optimisitic as it says July 2019 on my visa they will allow it.

Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about the validity of their 12-month education visa against their 6-month course duration. They hope to keep their visa valid until the expiration date stated in their passport, despite the school's indication of an early termination. Various comments clarify that the visa remains valid until the date in the passport, and discussions surrounding the distinction between a visa and an extension of stay are highlighted. The user learns they can perform border runs to extend their stay despite the course's end.

It is clear,
@Ben ****
has a multiple entry Non Immigrant ED visa valid till 2 July 2019. He can keep on making border runs till 2 July 2019 to activate a new 90 day stay. No need to do 90 day reports at Immigration. He can keep on doing this till 2 july 2019 and can get almost 15 months of stay out of this visa.

So he is now aware that he needs to do a border bounce, not a 90 day report ? :-)
Robert *******
He send passport pictures by private message.

I was a bit confused but robert explained to me i sent him a photo of my visa
Lloyd ********
How is it clear he has a multi entry visa ? 90 day reports would totally refute that.
Lloyd ********
If you are doing 90 day reports, you have an extension, once your course ends, so does the reason for that extension - it needs to be cancelled on or before your last day of classes. You can NOT use that extension for a course at a different school or university.

Terminoligy, here we go again. What is a Visa and What is an Extension of Stay. The Visa is a sticker in your passport with the word Visa and stay valid till the date mentioned on the visa under valid until/enter before. an Extension of Stay is a stamp from Immigration Office with in the second line: Extension of Stay is permitted until ../../.. This Extension of Stay has to be cancelled on your last day of study. Here an Example:
Robert *******
You need to meet the requirements with documentation from school, copies passport etc to apply for an Extensiont of Stay.
Robert *******
a 90 day report is a report that you are 90 days inside Thailand and you confirm your address. Has nothing to do with visa or extension of stay.

Robert so I will get the extension of stay when i do my final 90 day report during my course, and not at the end of my visa i assume?
Alex *******
At my university this is the rule too. You are supposed to cancel your visa within a month after your last class.
Alex *******
So,
@Ben ****
is not on an extension so he couldn't cancel his?
Robert *******
You can not cancel a Visa, only the Extension of Stay.

there is a key word there.
Robert *******
The Visa (sticker in a passport) stays valid till the valid until/enter before date on the visa.
