Will taking a bus from Udon Thani to Laos give me a 30-day stamp, and can I apply for a 60-day visa at the embassy there?

Hi all! If I were taking the bus from Udon Thani into Laos and staying for a couple days before coming back, would that give me a 30-day stamp since it's by land? And if I decide to go to the embassy there and apply for a visa instead would that still give a 60-day stamp even though I would be returning by land? Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post inquires whether taking a bus from Udon Thani to Laos will grant a 30-day visa exemption stamp and if applying for a visa at the Laos embassy will yield a 60-day visa. According to a comment, the answer is affirmative for both cases, provided there haven't been more than two land border crossings in the calendar year for visa exemption.

Basically, yes and yes, as long as you dont already have 2 land border crossings in a calender year for the visa exempt stamp
