Hallo

I live in Germany,

I'm German and 61 years old.

I have a work contract in Germany and because of that I am in statutory health insurance. I have the visa non-imm OA Longstay multiple.

Thailand pretends to be a health insurance with 3,000,000 coverage from a Thai insurance company.

I have travel abroad health insurance all the years with repatriation to Germany.

I don't know now if travel insurance will be accepted for the visa.

Reason for my question, the last border crossing the officials wanted to see my insurance policy and I had problems there.

Who can help me clear this question here?

Hallo

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, a 61-year-old German resident with a Non-Imm OA Longstay visa, is seeking clarification on whether their travel health insurance from Germany will be accepted for visa purposes in Thailand. They encountered issues at the border when officials requested to see their insurance policy. Comments indicate that while initial applications for the OA visa can use either Thai or international health insurance, extensions require insurance coverage from a Thai company.

You have to update your health insurance to get stamped in for another year. That’s why the IO wanted to see how long your current insurance was valid as you’ll only be stamped back in until it expires. You can update the same health insurance as long as your visa is valid (one year). For the one year extension of stay in Thailand you’ll have to use one of the companies on this list.

For initial OA visa can be Thai or International Insurance for the required amount. For any subsequent extension has to be Thai company
