TLDR : Answer Summary
Health insurance is not a requirement for obtaining an ED visa in Thailand. While having insurance is advisable for safety, travelers should be cautious about their coverage duration, as many travel insurance policies might only offer protection for three months.

Not a requirement for the ED visa, but as advice read the fine print of your policy, Most travel insurance only covers a period of 3 months away from your home, not years.
