I am currently here under a one year extension of stay based on retirement issued 20 Aug 2016. I left the country (with re-entry permit) 11 Sept returning 6 Oct 2016 and was stamped in admitted until 6 Oct 2017. My question: If I leave the country again, will that date(6 Oct 2017) be reset?? TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster is asking whether leaving Thailand again will affect their visa validity date of 6 October 2017, which was established upon re-entering the country after obtaining a one-year extension of stay based on retirement. Comments indicate that re-entering Thailand with a re-entry permit should maintain the extension, but there might be confusion about whether that date gets reset or not.

This is another example of when photos of relevant passport stamps should have to be posted before any discussion

But again: a Re-Entry permit gives the possibility to leave and come back and keeping your Extension of Stay alive. On re entering Thailand you should be stamped in the same day as your current Extension of Stay. This means the stamp for 1 year till 6 Oct is not correct and should be corrected at Immigration Office.

Good to know and much appreciated

If you go now on 6 Oct 2017 for an Extension of Stay they will notice the difference in time frame between your Extension of Stay date and the wrong date stamp fro 6 Oct 2017. You should know the rules and they will charge you for overstay.

When I returned 6 October, My previous admitted until, was reset to a full year from that that date. Previously it was 1 year dated from the issue of the extension based on retirement.
