I had planned to file for a 30 day tourist visa extension tomorrow in Hua Hin. I arrived on April 2 and was granted a 30 day waiver.

However, I'm only staying in Hua Hin until April 29th. Then I'm in Bangkok for 2 days. Will I have an issue applying in hua hin so close to my time to depart for other cities?

Should I wait and apply in Bangkok?

Answer summary

The user plans to file for a 30-day tourist visa extension in Hua Hin after receiving a 30-day waiver but is concerned about the timing due to imminent travel to Bangkok. Comments indicate that applying in Hua Hin is permissible as long as they have a TM30 address registration, and extensions are generally easier to obtain in smaller towns compared to busy cities like Bangkok.

The 30 days extension of stay will be ADDED to your current ending date.

So get the extension of stay at Hua Hin Thai Immigration as it may be easier to do in Hua Hin vs in Bangkok.

Make sure to have a TM30 address registration on file with Thai Immigration office in Hua Hin.

No issue at all to apply for tourism extension at Hua Hin office as long as you can show the "current address" (on TM30) in Hua Hin as of application date.

By the way, you entered on visa-exempt scheme, not visa-waiver if you can apply for 30 days tourism extension.
