TLDR : Answer Summary
After entering Thailand on a tourist visa twice this year and extending both times, you have several options. One common suggestion is to apply for a 60-day tourist visa and potentially extend it, which is often seen as more economical and convenient than multiple border runs. Additionally, if you're considering traveling out of Thailand, it's feasible to apply for a new visa at a nearby country, such as Malaysia, as long as you schedule an appointment and allow time for processing. Ensure you understand the limits on visa exemptions and entries based on your mode of entry, whether by land or air.

When going to Thailand for 31 - 60 ( 90 )days, the 60 days touristvisa is the best option.
It is cheaper than visa excempt + 30 days extension.
No need of a onward ticket ( 90 days 1 onward ), if returnticket within 60 days.
It is easier to apply from the comfort of your home.

Not wasting holiday time to find, go to and waiting at a immigration office ( 90 you would need that ).
I’m in the exact same position. I’ve entered the country on a 30 day visa exemption twice. Extended twice, done a Land border bounce and an air border bounce. Im ready to leave for KUL for my next border bounce. Can I apply for a 60 day visa in KUL?
yes. But you need to make an appt in KL. Expect 48 hours turnaround time

Get a visa for the length of time you are staying.

How did you enter the country? You can only enter visa exempt 2 times by land. If you haven't used that up then use a border bounce company or get a visa in a nearby country but don't fly
there are no rules governing entry by air but you are much more likely to get pulled aside and questioned if entering by air, particularly if you've already had a couple of visa exempt entries recently
you can't save money doing that anymore if ya a new zealander, they just increased cost of visas by x3 when they switched to evisas last month. What was once 7000baht is now

baht for 6mev. Has totally screed my original plans
the Thai consulates in neighboring countries have stopped giving Back to Back Tourist Visas you’ll have to go to different consulates and that’s no guarantee you won’t get denied entry you’ll need the proper visa to stay long time in the kingdom
The visa (+extension) is used when you leave Thailand.
So next time you travel to Thailand is a new entry, but you can have difficulties by applying for Touristvisa if you don’t come from you country of residence, but perhaps visa excempt + extension will be enough 2. time
