Hi, I hope you can help. Unfortunately I was deported and received a 5 year ban for overstay. After the 5 years are up will the ban be automatically lifted or do I need to apply to have it lifted?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A deportation ban in Thailand does not automatically lift after the designated time, such as five years. A person banned must return with the appropriate documentation from their departure and present any relevant stamps or records to immigration authorities upon re-entry.

The ban DOESN'T automatically lift. You need to fly back in with the documentation they gave you went you left the country (you DID sign paperwork) and if you can you need to bring the old passport with the ban stamp in it too.

When you arrive you will have to show them when you left, when the ban was given and then they can let you in. There is no "automatically cancelled" sort of thing.

If you can help with advice feel free to post.

The OP is deported and has a 5 year ban, he knows what he did was wrong, you do not have to tell that again.
