Hi I'm on a single entry tourist visa 30 day extension  which expires 28Jan. I'm off to Laos for 10 days on the 9th Jan . Am I correct in thinking my extension will stop as soon as I leave Thailand. 

Hence as I'm a UK citizen and flying back into BKK I can get a standard 30 day tourist visa?

On returning do I need to produce a hotel booking and have 20k cash in TBH. I have a return to  UK flight booked for 28th April and have a 5 day trip  booked for HK to obtain another 60day SETV.

When coming back to BKK you’d be looking to get the visa exemption stamp for 30 days? Can’t tell you if you’ll be asked for the 20k cash as it’s up to the immigration officer. Best to have it with you in case.

Your Extension will be cancelled if you leave to Laos for 10 days. On return you can get the 30 day Visa Exempt Entry (not a standard 30 day tourist visa). At the moment we only see reports of people having longer history of living inside Thailand using tourist visa and visa exempt entry, being asked for the proof of funds, accommodation and onward travel. Immigration can ask everybody, they choose randomly, we can not tell you, you will get asked or not. Prepare yourself just in case.
