Hello, I’m new to the group and would like to ask a question, I’m Canadian and I work overseas (have for over 30 years) anyway, I work a shift of 5 weeks at work and 5 weeks off, over the next year or so I would like to take my off time (usually maximum 35 days) and come tour Thailand. My question is will I have issues coming in 3 or 4 times a year for about 30 to 35 days each time.
I will not be working at all, only traveling around and touristy stuff

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, a Canadian expatriate working overseas, is inquiring about the feasibility of visiting Thailand for 30 to 35 days at a time, three to four times a year, for tourism purposes only. Responses indicate that while it's generally possible, entry is ultimately at the discretion of immigration officers. Some suggest applying for a 30-day tourist visa, while others recommend considering the METV (Multiple Entry Tourist Visa) for more extended entries. The consensus is that having proof of onward travel and not overstaying the permitted duration should help mitigate potential issues.
as people stated, it is doubtful you will have much issue with that planned travel because you're not taking the full 60 days you're stamped in for, and you always have proof of onward travel (that you're leaving)
Your travel plans are not out of the ordinary, and I'd say it will work until it doesn't 😮 which no one can predict,
BUT in your favor, you are not milking 60 days plus taking a 30 day extension then bouncing out/back to do it again. you have time out of the country between your trips and they are shorter than you get stamped in for, you should be okay
I have a friend who works in NZ and has been coming here for about 7 years visiting about 3-4 times a year for 3 weeks each time has not had any problems at border as yet.
Well as I’m currently in the country I work I will just try a 30 day tourist visa and see what happens. As I said I’ve traveled the world for over 30 years working however, some times the stamps in passports depending on which countries cause issues.
Canadians can currently enter visa free for 60 days at a time. With breaks of 5 weeks or more in the middle of stays is less likely to draw attention. Always good to have proof of your work abroad (ie a work visa or similar), proof of where you will stay and proof on an onwards flight out of Thailand.
possibly true as he's not in Canada, but there have been a report of the METV multiple entry tourist visa being issued by either Hanoi or HCMC Vietnam. The METV was applied for.... not the DTV visa.
