Hey guys! What do you think about entering a third time in Thailand in a short period of time? So I stayed one month. Then travel for a week, come back for another month. Then travel for two weeks and coming back — is this last entry that I’m worried about, all entries are by plane.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around entering Thailand multiple times within a short span. The general consensus is that as long as the stay does not exceed 60 days, it is typically acceptable, but it is crucial to have required documents ready, such as proof of funds, onward travel, and accommodation. There are also mentions of varying visa durations and the importance of not exceeding a certain number of entries to prevent scrutiny from immigration officials.

I was in a similar position so emailed the London thai embassy and I got this back off them

the IOs do have on screen the total days in thailand this calendar year.

Entered today for the 4th time this year. IO asked how long, I said one month and I have a return ticket. No problem.

all entries by flight?

Would definitely recommend looking into getting a more favorable visa if you’re planning on consistently doing this.

I usually say over 6 visits in a calendar year is pushing it.

ah yeah. It’s just the last entry before applying for DTV

worst case scenario you can always bypass

scrutiny by getting “safe passage” then you get 0 questions at immigration. Also bevare of ending up on the “Grey list” which is where people usually end up and gets cornered by immigration

There's conflicting reports about 30 or 60 days tourist visa when entering Thailand, can any one please confirm

I think a lot of the confusion is in the name. You can enter on a 90 day tourist visa or a 60 day visa exempt entry and then pay 1900 baht for a 30 day extension.

@Gregg ******
on a tourist visa from the USA 🇺🇸 you can enter for 60 days according to their website.

@Richard *****
I think you will find that 60 days is "visa exempt" and no application is necessary. IO will grant it upon arrival.

I'm on way back next week for a few days will be telling them going Laos

You're pushing it buddy.
Michael ********
That should be ok, its the people who do full two month (60 days) plus 30 days they seem to be watching for
Jo ********
Unless there's something I don't know about you're only allowed to come in to Thailand twice a year under the conditions I think you're talking about

@Jo *******
there is no written rule, that's the problem. Sometimes it's ok, sometimes not. Depends finally on the immigration officer.

that's what makes this group bad. People posting things that they have no idea about

there is no rule about 2 entries. There used to be a rule about 2 entries per year at a land border without a visa, but that rule was abolished when visa exempt went to 60 days.

@Brandon ***********
thank you that's good to know. Because I'm playing on living there and doing border runs if I have to I know there was a 60-day rule and then 30 day extension that's what I'm planning on doing. I have a friend from Canada has been living there for 25 years doing that
Brandon ************
@Jo *******
That is not something you should count on anymore. That used to be possible before Covid, but not since. They started cracking down years ago, and since they changed visa exempt to 60 days they've been VERY strict. Many people who have entered and gotten a 30-day extension then left have been pulled out of line at the airport and interrogated after only their 2nd entry, and told to get a long-term visa or be denied entry next time.

Just because there is no rule does not mean it's unlimited.
Bob **********
Yes as Brandon says it’s all about how long you stay in Thailand but have the 3 proofs in case

thanks that’s what I thought

It's probably fine. It's more about how long you've been in Thailand than how many times you enter. You'll only have been in Thailand for 2 months. Just make sure you have all of the required items when you attempt to enter.

1) Proof of funds (20,000 baht or equivalent in another major currency IN CASH ONLY)

2) Proof of onward travel (a ticket leaving Thailand within 60 days of your arrival

3) Proof of lodging (at least a couple of days hotel reservation from the day you arrive)

ah ok well Qatar airways accepted when I left London. And immigration asked and accepted when I arrived in Bangkok but it's always down to the official you see so luck of the draw
