TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, when your Thai visa application is approved or denied, you will receive an email notification. The email will contain a PDF document of your visa approval, which you need to print. Several commenters shared their experiences, confirming that they were notified via email about the status of their visa applications, and recommended checking both the inbox and spam folder for the email.

I have been waiting for my ( Spouse) DTV visa for over 4 weeks and I fly out tomorrow, I have e mailed them twice and it’s Pending Approval.

My wife has hers, I have not broken any rules and I am financially supporting my self so is my wife. I have been going to Thailand for over 14 years, love the country, people, food, culture.

I am happy to take the risk but I am also going to be honest. The worse case scenario I will probably spend some time in Vietnam until I sort things out.

David de Wit . . . the visa will be send via E-mail. It is a pdf document. You need to print it. You should check your E-mail folder, and the Spam E-mail folder, too
