Question about the flight to Thailand after approval

Is it true that you hae to take the flight which you stated as the „intended flight“ to Thailand when applying for the DTV?

If I get approved can I take an earlier/different flight?

I am in Vietnam by now and want to fly to Thailand as soon as I get approved.
