Why should the Poipet border crossing into Thailand be avoided?

I have read, with a previous question asked here, to avoid Poipet border crossing at all costs to return into Thailand.

Unfortunately our bus from Siem Reap crosses the border in Poipet.

We are visa exempt and were only in Thailand recently for 28 days, returning only for 2 weeks before flying home. We only travel to Thailand every few years.

Can anyone please explain why Poipet is highlighted by a moderator to avoid at all cost??

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Poipet border crossing into Thailand is often advised against for travelers attempting to 'border bounce' to reset their visa-free entry period. This can lead to complications, including potential denial of entry for those trying to circumvent visa rules. However, if you are traveling from Siem Reap on a bus and can demonstrate your intention to leave Thailand soon, you are likely to have no issues crossing at this border.

That border is to be avoided for people who are trying to border bounce out/back to get a new free 30 day entry stamp after being here on a free stamp w/an extension especially ๐Ÿ˜ฎ. For those people that is the border of "denial of entry" to thailand ๐Ÿ˜•

I doubt that you'll have issues comin' back in at the Poipet/Aranyaprathet border after spending time in Siem Reap and comin' in on a tour bus from Cambodia.

Even if you were questioned you could show your flights out of thailand going back to where you're from in 2 weeks so that should be enough

yes stated in all posts I would be re entering Thailand at land border, I was asked to remove company name of bus by Admin prior to post approval.

And yes Tod has given perfect clear clarification that in my case re entering at Poipet land border is absolutely fine, and not necessary to avoid, as advised previously.

you will be fine as you are with a group on the Ibis tour bus. For those who are traveling individually, we STILL say to AVOID POIPET BORDER CROSSING.

Safe travels...

thank you, I actually explained all above in previous post but was still advised to avoid it as a land crossing so didnt really understand why, given I was only returning to Thailand to fly out ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

Your answer above makes far more sense than previous answer to avoid the crossing, given what was asked and explained in previous post.

Thank you Tod for your assistance and clarification.
