Hello me and my partner are leavingThailand on 45 day exemption visa and going to Cambodia for around 10 nights. What would be best to get back into Thailand on another visa exemption as Poipet is the closest land boarder crossing to where we will be and I have seen a few posts about it being difficult, any help much appreciated!, thanks😌

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is seeking advice on how to successfully re-enter Thailand after a 45-day visa exemption, particularly through the Poipet border crossing from Cambodia. They have expressed concerns about potential difficulties at Poipet and are open to suggestions on the best course of action, including whether to fly back instead.

The "best" way? Fly back to Thailand. If you don't or can't fly back, then forget the closest land border and avoid Poipet. Go to any other land border.

Here is what you had originally was asking... with my reply.

So now you change your post about your doing a BORDER BOUNCE.

Have you already obtained the 30 days extension of stay at Thai immigration office that you are entitled to as you entered Thailand VISA EXEMPT ENTRY with 45 days stamp ???

What is your passport nation?

What is your recent history of staying in Thailand during COVID-19 and past year?

we was under the impression it wasn’t something we was entitled to get, the 30 day extension so we decided travel to Cambodia for 10 days to then come back into mainland Thailand, got accommodation and travel there already booked and on our way, our main concern is when we re-enter Thailand, would it be smarter by plane or on land trying to avoid said boarder crossings, our passports are British passports aswell, and this is our first time in Thailand, arriving the 8th of January 2023, thank you for your reply James

Thank you guys, this seemed like the logical option how ever flights seem abit costly, but to save the hassle with the boarder I assume to spend the extra would be wise, much appreciated responses tho guys thank you all

it's wonderful that you are going to Cambodia for added holidays.

IF you recently entered Thailand in January Visa Exempt Entry with 45 days. AND you don't have any recent history of living in Thailand, you should have any problem with a return by air.

@Keir *****
simplest is to fly in

other than from the 8th of January 2023 to current date today (under 45 days) this is the first time traveling to Thailand, would that be a problem or do you mean previous travels here before this
James ********
@Keir *****
it should not be a problem...if you arrived into Thailand in January and had not stayed in Thailand in 2022.

Enjoy your holidays in Cambodia and Thailand

Depending on your recent past history in Thailand…try by air if this is your first time here.
