Will I be charged for overstay if my covid visa expires while immigration is closed?
hi my my covid visa expires today but immigration is closed until Monday and was unaware today was Saturday will I have to pay overstay on Monday when I go to renew
Answer summary
If your Covid visa expires on a day when the immigration office is closed, you won't be charged for overstay as long as you apply for your extension the next day they are open. You will receive a stamp in your passport indicating a one-day overstay, but the fine will be waived due to the office being closed.

You'll just get a stamp in your passport which says one day overstay, fine waived due to office closed

you don't have any visa 😮 you have a covid EXTENSION, but be that as it may IF your stamp expires on a day the immigration office is closed (weekends or holidays) and you go the very next day they're open you will be able to APPLY for your extension like you did before, you will not be charged for overstay but you will get an overstay stamp in your passport

you'll be fine just go on Monday which is NOT a holiday (like people mistakenly think it is) it's Labor Day and that's not a holiday for gov't workers
