Will a one-month Muay Thai training course affect my DTV visa application success?

Oct 3, 2025
Has anyones DTV application been rejected due to enrolling on a one month course for soft power Muay Thai training?

I have identified a suitable package but concerned a one month training package will raise concerns when requestings a 5 year visa DTV visa.

I'm applying from the UK btw

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation revolves around concerns regarding applying for a long-term DTV visa in Thailand while enrolling in a one-month Muay Thai training course. Multiple comments suggest that applying for a DTV visa with such a short course may lead to rejection, as it is generally advisable to enroll in a course of at least six months to increase the chances of being granted the visa. Many commenters advise potential applicants to consider longer courses to ensure their DTV visa application is successful.

All DTV depends on which Embassy you apply at.

It used to be easy and many people successfully got their dtv for 1 month course. However, now more people are getting rejected for it. I would buy art least a 9 month course. 6 months they can still give you a long tourist visa

You can get 60 days on a normal tourist visa so would they grant a DTV for a one month course you don't need it.

Do you think they will give you a 5 year visa on a short course? Think about future abit

If you apply with a 1 month course there's a very good chance you will just be issued with a tourist visa as that is more than sufficient for the course you are applying for, rather than being rejected. If you want the DTV make sure your course is at least 6 months, preferably longer

isn’t a tourist visa the same visa which is offered to everyone as standard? (60 days) with no payment needed?

Anonymous participant no that's a visa exempt entry, not a visa at all

They are reports of shorter courses being rejected or given a METV. You could do a one-month course on a visa-exempt ;-)

Well your chances are pretty low indeed... That's a 5-year visa and most are going for at least 6 months now.
