Good morning. I am looking to apply for the DTV from the UK using soft power either culinary or muy Thai. I’ve read on here that it’s better to apply sooner rather than later even though I don’t intend to come out until later this year. I am coming for a short holiday next month though so should I apply for DTV in time for that or come out on a 60 day tourist visa? I Have everything I need for the DTV apart from the course. I’m just not sure how the course part works if I don’t plan to start it until October. I know that the visa is 5 years and there is no requirement to arrive by any particular time but since I have to submit course documents would the embassy question why I am applying now for a course that starts later this year? Plus also coming out next month for a 2 week stay?
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is considering applying for a DTV from the UK, specifically for culinary or Muay Thai courses, and is questioning whether to apply now or wait until closer to the course start. They plan to visit Thailand for a short holiday next month but want to know if applying for the DTV beforehand, even though the course starts later, could raise issues with embassy officials. The discussion in the comments suggests applying 2-3 months prior to the course start to avoid complications and suggests that applying any earlier might result in rejection.
