Thinking of applying for DTV under soft power (muay thai).
A school told me before ppl could get away with just 3 month courses, now 6 is not even enough, hence they offer only 9 month courses .... The school is called FitFac and is quite big. I doubt they would want to scam me like that. Wyt folks?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry revolves around the legitimacy of applying for a DTV visa through a Muay Thai school called FitFac. Community responses confirm the school's credibility, noting that they likely recommend longer courses (9 months) due to stricter immigration rules. Many mention that some consulates are issuing shorter visas for shorter courses, prompting recommendations for extended training. Participants also suggest that FitFac can assist with other visa-related needs, such as opening a local bank account.
Sounds legit. Plenty of stories of people being issued an METV applying in their home country rather than a DTV as the METV is sufficient for a 6 month course
I've seen their ads for the DTV and they look legitimate. From what I've seen on posts here it looks like some embassies/consulates are only issuing 6 month tourist visas for shorter courses to soft power applicants. This is likely why they are pushing for a 9 month course, so that you'll get the 5 year DTV.
This is a serious school with a serious way of dealing with people. Rules are getting stricter for everyone and thus they recommend longer classes even when applying. Does that mean you're good for 5 years with a 9 months classes? Well no one knows... Immigration requests you to have ongoing classes when extending in Thailand for now.
