TLDR : Answer Summary
The user reported a rejection for a tourist exemption that allows 45 days in Thailand while in the Netherlands. They have been advised that as a Dutch citizen, they typically do not need a visa for entry. However, requirements for a Certificate of Entry (COE) include proof of COVID-19 insurance, an ASQ (Alternative State Quarantine) booking, and a pre-purchased quarantine hotel. Some users suggested traveling to Thailand with an alternate visa type and applying for an extension locally.

Did you book and pay for your quarantine hotel, and get an insurance policy covering at least US$100,000 covid-19 coverage, and do you have your plane ticket. You need these to get your COE

No idea why you were rejected. As a Dutch citizen you are entitled to enter Thailand visa exempt. You don’t need a visa. You get 45 days on arrival. You still need to liaise through the embassy for Certificate of entry and all the stuff that entails but you don’t need a visa.

someone earlier just posted about a problem from Australia....I said maybe it has to do with them changing back to evisa’s but if this is a pattern it could be on there end. I had good luck in the US messaging my embassies FB page as silly as that sounds

from what I hear it’s the same with London. They reply to Facebook messenger better than email. No actual idea but just by seeing posts on here.

sorry no experience with the Dutch embassy or consulate you are dealing with. Perhaps you’d need to contact them as to why you were rejected. Maybe nothing to do with not having a visa and some issue with other paperwork, but pure speculation on my part.
