Hello, i just got Denied to Entry in BKK.

i was in Thailand, on a Non-Imm ED Visa with a lot of Covid stamps almost 2,5 years. on the 25.3.22 i fly to Cambodia, i apply for a new Tourist e-Visa , and made Thai Pass and everything. I had a Paper from my School, that proves, i came back on Tourist, just for can change to my new ED-Visa inside of Thailand to learn Thai. However they did not let me Enter, because they said i stay in Thailand for too long. And put me in the Airport Prison for 2 days, and today i had to fly back to Cambodia. What i can do now, to come back to Thailand. Any Suggestions ? TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user reported being denied entry into Thailand after applying for a Tourist e-Visa following a prolonged stay on a Non-Immigrant ED Visa. Despite having documentation from their school to support their return for educational purposes, immigration officials cited their lengthy stay as the reason for denial, which led to two days of detention at the airport. Suggestions from commenters include obtaining a proper Non-Immigrant ED Visa, ensuring proof of onward travel, accommodation, and sufficient funds are available for future entries into Thailand. It is also advised to consider entering through less scrutinized airports.

Okay, I close it down, the jokers arrived with useless comments and I'mm already tired of deleting them.

Thanks for the more serious input.

Being to long in Thailand is not a valid reason to get denied by immigration. Did you had the three proofs as mentioned in other posts?

No reports of anyone denied entry at other international airports like Chiang Mai or Samui. Only at Suvarnabhumi so far.

That might be because it's not possible to fly directly from PP to either CM or Samui?

And the majority of people are doing their " border runs" by flying to PP.

They may be cracking down on those who have been here “learning”

Try returning through Phuket or anywhere that isn't Bangkok next time also.

isn’t his name now in the central system as being denied entry ?

Bangkok is the only place that's been hard on returnees with Covid extensions. No reports of anyone being denied at Phuket, Krabi, Chiang Mai etc. Being denied entry doesn't ban you from the country.

Keep conversation in the group, so everybody can learn about it.

Yes, they have it all recorded in their database. And he has a copy of the reason why he is denied.

@Robert ******
if he’s denied entry, I’m assuming that is then logged in the system so no matter where he enters next time, they have a record of him being denied entry ?

Did the imm officer try to speak Thai to you ? How did you replied ? Just like the other said, if you not be able to speak Thai to imm officer he/she may doubt you really learn Thai here that long but can't speak Thai.

I'm studying Thai, but in my school there are foreigners studying English and Chinese under an ED visa... As long as the school and program are guaranteed by the ministry and it isn't the native language of the foreigner, what is the problem with it?

No problem at all.

yes they did, they say oke so speak Thai with me, and i said how i can speak Thai, i was on an ED visa to learn English, im just coming now to make my ED visa to learn Thai. so normal i can not speak a language before i go to the school. They wanted to see pictures of me in the school wich i could show them. but they did not really listen at all, or look at my papers, for them it was clear i can not come as a tourist because i stayed for 2,5 years

makes no sense, change your name, get new passport and try again

My advice is contact your school, get all needed documents to apply for the Non Immigrant ED visa and then come back to Thailand using that visa.

You are refused with a reason, which is not to long inside Thailand. Make sure you have the 3 proofs that can be asked: onward travel, accommodation and 20.000 thb or equivalent currency in cash.

These are the reasons a person can be denied entry:

PS: if you previous ED visa was to learn Thai, you should be able to speak some Thai.
