TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification on entering Thailand through the Friendship Bridge with a Dutch passport and insurance, specifically whether they can utilize a Visa Exempt status for a 14-day stay. The conversation reveals uncertainty regarding the current status of land borders, with multiple comments indicating that they may be closed, necessitating further investigation about entry requirements, including potential quarantine and Certificate of Entry (COE) obligations.
I live near the Malaysian border. AFAIK there is no border crossing possible for regular people, whether Thai, Malaysian or other. Only cargo may cross a few crossings.
Thank you all for commenting. I have put all the pros and cons in a row and believe it is better to fly to Bangkok and straight to Europe from there (so not leave the airport at all) with a Finnair flight. You made me think guys. Its not worth it just to give my daughter a hug and do some banking.
I was told it is possible but you need C of E $100k insurance and 10 day pre booked and paid quarantine. Was suggested I took the 900 baht flight from Wattay to Udon or DMK.
I know of a friend who crossed the bridge, only he had to apply for a full visa, so that triggered my question. Is that still the case, or is travel made easier already.( There are debates about it in the government ).
There’s been no reports of any land borders open. No idea what your friend did but it would be certainly strange if they were able to access Thailand from a border.
