What Are the Options for an Australian with a Multi-Entry B Visa in Thailand Facing Immigration Challenges?

ORIGINAL POSTER
Australian passport holder with multi entry B visa and a work permit needing to do a border bounce for stamp on 29th.

Rang the Australian embassy and was told the only option is to go back to Australia as Australia is still open to Australians and is wanting all nationals to get back, Australia is one of the countries that can not just go to immigration with a letter to get a extended stamp. I was told no exemptions and I will be fined and possibly blacklisted if I over stay.

Any other Aussie's found a conclusion? I have businesses, houses and animals. It doesnt look like a quick trip back to Australia if that is the only place we can go. Any help?

TLDR : Answer Summary
An Australian passport holder with a multi-entry B visa and a work permit is facing challenges due to border restrictions and the need to exit Thailand for a border bounce. The Australian embassy has suggested that returning to Australia is currently the only option, while various commenters provide alternate suggestions, including exploring extension options and potential adjacent countries for a quick trip. However, complications arise from the requirement of medical certificates and insurance for re-entry, as well as the uncertainty regarding flights. The situation poses a dilemma for those who consider Thailand their home but face strict immigration laws.

Okay not to rub salt on a wound but you hold a year-multi-Non-B and could bounce in and out an unlimited amount of times on that visa (every DAY if you wanted to). You had to have seen this on the horizon last week when it was still okay to bounce.

I am sympathetic to your plight, but the only thing you can do now is find a country you can fly IN to and then fly there and back, hopefully before midnight tonight when the new entry requirements to thailand take effect..

are you married to a Thai wife or have a Thai child you are the legal father of? This will enable you to get a 60-days "family relations" extension
Benjamin ******
On a non-B visa?
Peter **********
If you have a Non Imm B and valid work visa then you can extend.

what documents do I need, where do I go, and what price? How long is the extension? This is the first reply I have received that address my situation.

Same situation, one year multiple entry non b, visa run due April 7 and for good measures my dog ate my passport last week so can't do any last minute dashes anywhere whilst waiting for new passport to arrive!!

Fly to Cambodia and back tomorrow. Or land border run to Cambodia (if they're still open)

I’m from Australia, and did my bounce the other day, as I watch this group daily. I don’t think you’ll be allowed back in without the medical certificate + insurance. So, unless you’re 100% you can get these documents, I’d probably go back to aus while flights are still running.

same from Holland

In exactly the same situation.But have until mid April, But doubt it will be much better then.

@Michael *******
no I have the non.immigrant B with work permit.and company.

@James *******
he is in this site page/post?
Colin ******
Just to clarify. I have a non immigrant B.visa, a Thai company, been here.13 years, am fully employed, but I can't find out how to do the "rubber stamp" visa run or equivalent now.
Colin ******
@James *******
so what do we do about our visas?

@Colin *****
Thai government medical experts expect this to last thru first quarter of next year.

Buy the Thai Elite Visa...Five years of hassle free life in Thailand for 500,000 Thai baht 😉

.

@James *******
Do you think getting the Elite visa now is possible/wise? Or should one wait for the crisis to be over? I'm in Thailand for 2 months right now, if getting it now means I can get a nice 1 year stamp on my passport without leaving the country, I'd definitely do it now.
Robert *******
NOT an option, these people work in Thailand.

Thai Elite visa is based on Tourist visa, employment prohibited

The 20 year one for 1M is what I would have bought before the GBP tanked again. Its a priority for me when this shit subsides. But, you can't work. Jess has a successful business she is there to work not play.

@James *******
. I think there will be a huge spike in Elite Visa applications when all this is over.

I'm confused, you need to do a boarder bounce, the alternative on any multi entry is to extend the admitted until stamp, you can do that normally on any of the entries of a multi entry, there is no need to concern yourself with what the aussie embassy is saying. I need to do a boarder bounce myself in due course, and will be obtaining an extension on it instead of risking the leaving and coming back.
Ellie *******
Extension to non-B multiple is available only 1 year and it requires a lot of documentation and meeting conditions, and some of them need time to meet, not like you can pay more money to meet the requirements, or having some money for a few months.

With Non-O multiple marrying Thai national or raising half Thai Child, you can apply for 60days extension.

Non-O multiple entry and Non-B multiple entry have same rule regarding how long you will be stamped and how long you can use. Other rulea are not same.
Gail ***********
@James *******
are you on a working visa or tourist visa?
Robert *******
The confusion is that these people have the 1 year Non Immigrant B visa and they can not meet the requirements at their local immigration Office for the Extension of Stay.

Only option is to leave the country and come back for a new 90 days of stay
Gail ***********
Following, same but from Scotland!
Daniel *******
Flights to Denpasar seem to be still running.. might be a possibility
Robert *******
all visa and visa on arrival are suspended in Indonesia until 20 April 2020

As this is your home, you know the overstay penalties.

Do not risk it

@Robert ******
that's easy to say.

But with kids /business/hubby from a different continent /pets etc.

And my son has a diff passport to me!!

There is no 'home' for me.

This is my home. Our home.

I can't split up our family and livleyhood and run back to the UK where I have no one and nothing at all... And be forced to be separated from our families in the process.
Rachel *********
Yeah Stu is in the same situation (oz) and me as well (UK)

And we can't and won't be flying 'home' as this is our home... So (?) 🙈

However there are sooooo many in the same position as us. Surely someone, somewhere, at some point will make a call to help all the non-b visa holders. Right (?) 🙄
Bobby ********
@Rachel ********
. That's applying commonsense, but the Thai authorities may argue that you've had ample time and warning to get this sorted earlier.
Darren ********
QF are stopping flying by the end of March and I don’t expect Scoot and Emirates will fly those routes for long without many pax either. So you may choose to gamble that the embassy stance changes from the end of March when there will literally be no flights to the continent. However you are surely stuck if they don’t change their stance then. Tough choice I’m afraid, as half Oz I’m in the same boat
Narelle ************
I was on an emirates flight LHR-MEL yesterday it was overbooked. And hell on earth. Full of coughing people. :o
Robert *******
The alternative is the Extension of Stay, but that needs a lot of requirements to meet.

Only thing at the moment is hoping to find a country which you can visit and come back into Thailand, but be aware you need the medical statement and insurance to come back by plane
