What are my options for extending my O-A visa when Mukdahan immigration does not accept my monthly transfer proof?

O-A Extension issue. Any advise please?

My last entry stamp expires on 7-8-20 so in readiness to extend I just went to visit Mukdahan immigration to finalise their exact requirements and evidence.

I have health insurance so no problem there.

The problem is their idea of the money requirements. I understood that I had two options a) 65,000 a month for the previous year or b) 800,000 for two months prior then three months post renewal.

My choice was option a) and I have transferred 70,000 every month via TW from the U.K. to my Bangkok Bank for one year.

They are not interested. They just kept on about embassy letters and proof from the U.K. government of my income.

I explained I am not old enough for a pension and I do not work. This is my own money.

They will only accept the 800,000 method but I only have one month of my stamp remaining so I can’t do that.

The IO suggested a border bounce but I believe nobody is allowed back in. The IO didn’t seem to care.

What are my options please?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user faces challenges in extending their O-A visa at Mukdahan immigration due to differing interpretations of financial proof requirements. They have consistently transferred the required funds monthly but immigration insists on documentation from the UK government regarding income. Commenters advise that Mukdahan immigration should accept the monthly transfer method. They also suggest alternatives such as moving to another immigration office in Bangkok where regulations might be implemented more favorably.

I explained earlier, my guess is meet the requirements is the safest bet, moving to another district is an option but could be not as easy as typing move to Bangkok.

Good luck with your decision

rent a condo in Bangkok or move into a guesthouse, move away from the jurisdiction of the Mukdahan Immigration, register with a fresh TM30 in Bangkok. Chaeng Wattana Immigration Bangkok will accept the bank letter

as you totally speculate on the border runs being possible again before or by August 7, that might include the omnipresent risk you will not be allowed back. Nobody can give you a definite answer atm. what will be. So playing the safe card is, get away from Mukdahan Immigration jurisdiction, get da f..k out of Dodge, move to Pattaya or Bangkok, the 12 months bank letters which you so dedicately prepared, including your health insurance, will be accepted on their Immigration offices for an application for a year extension of stay

that’s an option I guess thanks.

Are all of your monthly money transfers indicated as international transfers? One of the problems with Transfer wise is that they use national transfer and that is not allowed by Immigration.

For further information about transfer wise use

yes all FTT. Never a problem with Bangkok Bank. I explained that to them too and I can get a managers letter from the bank. Still no good.

If its bkk bank, they keep a record of each tranfer in from overseas. They will print them out if you show them in the savings book which to print.

yes agreed but the issue is the IO said that is no good. She wants either proof of income from my embassy or 800k for two months.

@Robert *******
The issue was that you did not meet the requirements, Now you know you need the bank letter, go and get one and try again.

that is an option but as I have already been told by the IO they are not interested in bank letters. I can try I suppose.

Thanks. Yes I have the same. I specifically asked for that order from them so there can be no issue. Nowhere does it say anything other than ‘evidence’. I don’t know what to do.

@Robert *******
You did have the bank letters?

this was a fact finding visit. One of the facts is they don’t want a bank letter. They are not interested. They want proof of income from my embassy or 800k.

just add this to the police order i posted:

I explained that to them too and I can get a managers letter from the bank.

It will change their point of view and requirements quickly

no but I had my bank book. I explained I would get a letter. This was a fact finding visit not the application.

they HAVE to accept incoming monthly transfers for a minimum of 65K baht to a thai bank account in your name only each month for the previous 12 months because when the UK govt stopped the affidavit of income letter that's the program immigrations came up with for people who can't get the letter but wanna use banked money to do

is there an embassy letter I can use to explain they no longer issue affidavits? It is irrelevant any way. I am not old enough for a star pension and I have no job. My visa is a retirement visa. It’s all a bit mad.
