What should I do about my tourist visa validity mismatch with my travel plans for Thailand?
Hi everyone, can someone please help me with my visa situation? I have got my and my wife’s tourist single entry visas approved. However the validity of the visa doesn’t match with my flight tickets and hotel reservations. I attached all the relevant documents stating my visit from 12th Dec -18th Dec 2026 and my visa shows validity until 26th Nov 26. Is this an error? Thai embassy Canberra doesn’t answer calls at all neither they are replying to my emails. Is there any way to contact them?

This will become a big problem if visa exempt is reduced to 30 days. Thai Embassies have reduced their staff to the absolute minimum they will be unable to cope with big increase in visa applications.

I'm having the same here in England they're not answering emails or the phone ! Took my £150 for my 6 month tourist visa application sacked twice more for the money after I'd sent it checked my bank app it had gone through straight away ! Invoice came back with my name all jumbled up with about 8 extra letters in ! Been trying all week no response ! Thinking I've been scammed ! Want me to apply again No effin chance !

You can enter Thailand currently 60 days on entry, said soon to be cut to 30 days but not yet confirmed. You do not need a visa.

As others have said you should apply for a visa 2-3 months before your intended entry.

I would guess that you applied to early. Some visas have to be used withing 90 days. You don't say which visa you got. But the dates line up.

It doesn't matter what you put on your application. All Thai visas are effective from the date they are issued. The visa you received is valid for 90 days.
You applied too early. If your trip is in December you should not have applied in August. Most embassies would have just rejected your application, but Canberra still processed it. You'll need to wait until your visa expires and apply again. Contacting the embassy won't do you any good because you are the one that made the mistake.

FearlessKiwi9967 Yes, you should be able to apply for another one. But you can also check if visa exempt is still 60 days by then to determine if you need a tourist visa or not. Unless you have a different reason for wanting a tourist visa.
