What should I do if my online 90-day visa report application was rejected without an explanation?

My online 90-day application was rejected for no apparent reason (I have successfully applied many times before and know all the rules). I read here that sometimes the rejection email contains an explanation of the reason. Mine doesn't, but there is a message saying "Please contact the nearest immigration office in person immediately". I just wanted to ask if this is a standard message in such an email, or if I should go there as soon as possible. My 90-day deadline is 6th April. Or maybe try to re-apply online again?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user's online application for a 90-day visa report was rejected without a clear reason, prompting them to seek advice on whether to visit the immigration office or attempt another online application before their deadline. Community members speculated that the rejections were related to recent updates linking the TM30 and 90-day report systems, causing issues with address mismatches. They advised the user to check if their TM30 data aligns perfectly with the online submission information. While some suggested that visiting the immigration office might not be urgent, they recommended reapplying online with careful attention to detail.

I think we've taken this topic about as far as we can, thanx one and all for the comments, we are done.

To be honest I have abso-tively posi-lutely NO clue why so many hundreds and hundreds of people the country over are getting rejected thru the 90 day online system when most of them have been filing online successfully for many many reports.

I can only think it had to have something to do with this update/upgrade they did to the system over that long weekend last month when they had it shut down. As soon as it came back up that's when the number of people getting rejections just went off the charts

That’s a standard email. Double check that all the information you entered is correct and try to do it online again.. One thing I do think maybe the reason is your 90 day deadline is April 6 it may be a day or two soon to do it. I’m not exactly sure the number of days before and after you can do it online.

The online application window starts 15 days before, so I could do it since March 23rd. All data the same for 4 years already 🙂 Like others said, it might be the inconsistency between 90-days system and the entry in new TM.30 system (may need to file it again).

Just a pointer as I experienced this myself. If you left the country since your last on line 90 report, you need to go to immigration to do your next 90 day report.

If you don’t leave the country in the next 90 day period, on line should be fine next time. Hope that makes sense!

@Rick ******
i am not doubting your experience in the least but when I came back from the US in Nov my next 90 day was due in Feb (just before this train wreck upgrade to the system they did) and it went thru no issue at all

I filed the TM30 online the day I arrived and filed the 90 day report online 2 weeks before the due date (89 days after I got stamped in)

Chaeng Wattana full of rejected 90 days reports without reason.

@Toni **********
it is indeed, I was out there yesterday and that 90 day report room was filled with people who had printed their email rejections and were there in person 😮

I got rejected few days ago.The hub of IT in SE Asia...they say.

I am on an Elite visa (PE) and found in the past that when I put the visa expiry date into the online form my 90 day report was rejected. However if put the entry stamp expiry date it was approved. On Elite visa you get 1 year entry stamp when you arrive in Thailand even though the visa expiry is longer. I just thought I would mention this because the OP didn’t mention what visa he was on. You don’t put visa expiry date in the paper form so it isn’t an issue.
Tod *********
@Steve ********
right it's nothing to do with when you actual sticker visa expires it's the expiration date of the year entry stamp you get on the elite visa they want you to enter 🙂

I had exactly the same message a couple of days ago..
Arden ***********
I had this, only this month, online for the last 7 or so applications, then this time same message and I had to go in, careful they wanted to sting me 2000 baht overdue fee and I wasn’t undue and they wouldn’t back down until I literally pointed at the date
Tod *********
@Arden **********
you need to understand, JUST because you FILED a 90 day report online if it's not approved online and you don't go in person to file within 7 days after the due date you ARE liable for the 2000baht fine.

Just filing online (when it's pending) doesn't count for ANYTHING and if it runs a week past the actual due date ('stuck in pending') you will pull a fine when you finally go in person no matter what date you filed online

I was still well within my time and I am fully aware of these time lines. I will still well before the required deadline as I do early. I just said it used to work, it didn’t this one time and they tried to scam me. I’m within the rules, they were not. But thanks for using caps to highlight where I didn’t go wrong and what I already knew
Tod *********
@Arden **********
no problem, it's what I'm here for (y)

glad it worked out 🙂

a brief perusal shows you've been a member of this group for 3 years now, this leads me to believe you know or have seen that I ROUTINELY capitalize words when I type for EMPHASIS

So don't take it personal I wasn't singling you out,

but again; I'm glad I could help (y) that's what the group is here for. 🙂

I'm not sure of the dates, but it has to be getting on for a year since IMM introduced the new TM30 system. Its the new system thats linked, not the old one, and i suspect they have now shut down the old one and not accesable to IMM online process. So you have to have a TM30 on the new system, passport no, address and name have to be same on both sytems, and on the TM30 the 'leaving date' needs to left blank so it doesnt expire and you keep a copy of the pdf so you can use it to fill in the tm47 next time.
Tod *********
The rejections we're seeing are because of a system update, and address mis matches between the TM30 and the 90 day online system
Sefton ********
@Tod ********
Just a data point. mine was rejected (after 5 consecutive passes) and my tm30 and home address wild have matched. I hadn't had any hotel stays in the time.
Tod *********
@Sefton *******
I think it has to do with this new 'upgrade' they did last month during the long holiday because HUNDREDS and hundreds of people who normally were filing online with no issue suddenly are all getting rejected.
Sefton ********
@Tod ********
agree with you that's the probable cause just sort of adding that there's still a sprinkling of random failure too
Bernd ***********
@Tod ********
exactly. I got my 90 day rejected as well. Did a new TM30 online and then again the 90 day online which was then approved.
Tod *********
@Bernd **********
that was a great idea (y)

Okay listen up people while it says the earliest you can apply for an online report is 15 days before the due date that is REALLY 2 weeks before (not 15 days western count)

AND you can apply up to a week before the due date (that seemed to change in the online instructions)

BUT

There is NOTHING that says you have to apply on the exact 15 days (or exactly 2 weeks before the due date)
Les *******
Also been reporting online for over a year with no rejections and then last month, a rejection.

The rejection reason indicated that we were on a tourist visa within their system. Went into the immigration office and it looked liked they called the central office and explained that our visa is not a tourist visa. Processed the 90 day report in the immigration office.

I came away with the feeling that our rejection was to get us in to do another in-person 90 day check in to confirm our address again.
Pete **********
Is there a way to discover the exact address you have on record so 90 day reports online will work? I live in Pa Khlok or Paklok depending on the day...!
Tod *********
@Pete *********
check how the address is written on the TM30 and use that format.

If they really synchronized data between TM.30 and 90-day (TM.47) systems, then they have address from TM.30
Annie *******
That happened to me and my husband a few weeks ago. We’ve been doing our 90 day online for ages. Nothing different, but got rejected. We tried three times. We ended up going into Immigration. No explanation or reason 🤷‍♀️
Tod *********
Now that the 90 day online system and the TM30 system are tied together we're seeing a LOT more denial of 90 day reports when the address on file for the TM30 don't match exactly the address used for the 90 day report.

That rejection is just a computer generated rejection, no need to rush over to your immigration office.

You can apply again if you want to make sure you exactly match the address. If it's rejected again, you'll probably have to go in person

@Tod ********
this happened to me in Bangkok his time the 90 days report have never worked for me during the four years I lived here.

I tried online and it got rejected. After waiting in line for 2 hours at the bank of immigration I finally go to the person and it was done in 2 minutes. I asked for the reason of rejection and she said that I haven't written the address correctly and yes there was no space for it I only wrote what the exactly us for and apparently my apartment number needed to be on it.

I'm not sure if it's a person actually doing the matching at the online or if it looks for exactly character by character...

But wasting a day doing this I felt that maybe I try to do online next time but if it doesn't work I just fly to Cambodia for a week and reset it. Such a nuisance. Can we just do the night today report in the 7-Eleven similar to buying a SIM card hold up your passport etc.

This information about synchronising data from TM.30 and TM.47 systems made me think about one thing. The hotels in Thailand file a TM.30 for us even if we have a permanent address here (i.e. rent a condo). Could this be a reason for this mismatch? (I stayed in a hotel for 2 nights last weekend) I remember there was a concept of filling in TM.30 (or was it TM.28?) everytime in such situation (when staying in Thai hotels or returning from abroad) like 5-6 years ago when they started being strict about TM.30, but they later scrapped it...
Tod *********
@Krzysztof ********
totally COULD mess you up, I would say use the online TM30 system and file a NEW one every time you come back to your house..

I would bet dollars to durian that the person you turn your 90 day report in to at the office in person has nothing to do with the online system

Probably, but maybe she will see the reason of rejection :)

if it wasn't added as a comment on the rejection email you got they won't know why at all, but no harm in asking.

I always take a photo of my application documents and passport updates. Easy to replicate. Once when update car insurance address, transport removed my 90 day slip from the passport. Thankfully the photo of it saved me much hassle.
