I just had a new passport. I went to the Imm Office 2 weeks ago to have everything necessary transferred from my old passport to the new one. My visa is supposed to expire on March 22, 2020. I noticed only now that the new expiry date is Sept. 22, 2020. Why is that? Were the officers supposed to just copy the date of expiration of my visa?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user transferred their visa details from an old passport to a new one, but noticed a discrepancy in the expiration date of their visa after the transfer. Originally set to expire on March 22, 2020, the new passport indicates a different expiration of September 22, 2020. Community members discuss potential reasons for this mistake, emphasizing the importance of verifying all dates and correcting any errors at the Immigration Office before the original expiration date to avoid overstaying.
The Extension of Stay is transferred to the new passport, but the old Extension of Stay permitted up to 22 Mar 2020, changed in Extension of Stay permitted up to 20 Sep 2020. A mistake by setting the date of the stamp, sometimes happens. Go back and get the date corrected before 22 Mar 2020. And as we say many times, Immigration Officers are human, they make mistakes, please always check the date stamps when you receive your passport back, YOU are responsible for the correct dates and if you stay longer you are in overstay.

Please post a picture of the visa in the old passport and the stamp with the new expire date in the new passport. Please blank out personal details before posting, thanks
James Miller I have been teaching in Bkk for almost 3 years now. Same school. My worry is that, if they insist on the sept. date, I would have to renew my working permit on Sept. after renewing it on April 2020. That is only 6 months. Isn't it?
