Visa app getting kicked back and I'm not sure why. I've included my hotel confirmation- but its only one night. Have they changed and now want to see more/all of your stay?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user reports their Thailand visa application was rejected despite including a hotel confirmation for one night. Commenters note that visa applications through the e-visa platform don’t typically get rejected without reason and that additional lodging information for the full stay may be required. It is suggested that a 3-night reservation is usually sufficient. Another user shares their experience of rejection due to a name discrepancy between the application and passport, advising a careful review of the submitted documents.

I’m honestly not sure what’s happening and I’m afraid it’s some very trivial issue. I rented a house, I had a lease. This was fine!

In my case my original application was rejected because my name was not the same as it appears on my passport (passport includes middle name) though the application DID NOT ask for ‘Name as it appears on your passport’. So…again, gosh knows. Can you relook with fresh eyes, maybe even someone else helping? Suggestion.

Usually, a 3-night reservation will suffice.

why don't you keep it simple and just enter visa exempt for 30 days. If its not enough time to get your married visa then do the ฿1900 extension?
Chris *********************
@Phil *****
correct he can extended next day then again he's married to thai

what kind of visa are you looking for?

tourist, so I can move over to marriage visa.

my visa was late coming, I came got 30 days on entry, the next day went to my local imagration office and extended for 30 days,

Imagration officer said next time you come I could extended for 60 days based on marriage, then if you have the funds in a thai bank account, you could do the 1 year marriage visa, my visa came same day as I went to imagration, so I'm not going to abuse the system with any more extension, I'm going on holiday next month and renter to activate my visa,

If you have not got a long history of extention don't worry.

Why not just get the Non Imm O in the US?

@Jack ***************
how many tourists visa have you applied for in the past 3 years and how long have you lived in thailand in this period of time?
Chris *********************
@Michael *********
makes no difference how many visa he's had as long as he's had a visa,if he's gone through the right process, by getting a visa before coming why should they not approve,
Michael **********
@Chris ********************
this is NOT correct. The officers at the airport can refuse you to get in even you've gotten a visa. Having a visa doesn't guarantee you can get in the country. (His visa application got denied, that should sound like a red flag)
Chris *********************
@Michael *********
but we don't know on what grounds ,if he's be sticking to the law getting a visa every time he comes ,and the odd extension why can you think of a reason, and don't say imagration can refuse you entry at the airport, he hasn't got that far yet

not sure how many off the top of my head, I don't think this is at issue.

@Jack ***************
I disagree with you, that might be the main issue. If you have a history of multiple tourist visas and several months spent in thailand each year, they might refuse it like they've done just one

If this was the problem they would just deny me not ask me to upload a different document.

they just wanna make sure u are a legit tourist. I got a tourist visa the other month, went straight to the embassy in the morning, no questions asked and got it back a few hours later.
Heath ********
They want lodging for your full stay. Definitely a pain.

Is that new?

I had to do it 2 years ago.

Hmm okay, I've done it within the last two years showing only a one day hotel.

someone just didn't enforce it then. If I remember it says they want accomodations for your stay.

Pissed me off as I wasn't sure what my game plan was going to be...I just wanted to get to Thailand.

Visa applications through e-visa do not get "kicked back"

Once it's submitted the only way they can request additional documents is by e-mail. You cannot upload additional information into the portal. So either your payment is failing or you're not finished submitted the application.

Okay "kicked back" is a non technical term, but I think you are being intentionally pedantic. Rather than being approved they have requested additional documents. In this case asking for "Proof of accommodation in Thailand, e.g. Accommodation bookings, invitation letters from family/friends in Thailand: Please upload booking reservation during your stay in Thailand under your name" even though I already attached the document- twice.

how large is the file you submitted? There is a limit on how big the file can be.
Brandon ************
@Jack ***************
I'm not being pedantic. Kicked back would be within the system. A request outside the system would not be kicked back.

I haven't heard of any US embassies asking for additional information before now. You can just use Agoda to make a longer term booking that offers free cancellation. Once your visa is approved you can cancel it.

Nope. 🙂 Pretty sure that term can apply to any situation where something is sent or submitted from party A to party B and party be rejects said submission.

I'm wondering if I initially clicked "stay with family" and it didn't save when I changed it (after I remembered the difficulty last time with using a letter of invite) and I don't see a way to edit the app. Do you think I should just abandon this app and make a new one?
Brandon ************
@Jack ***************
no. You'll lose your money. You can either make the hotel reservation or have someone write you an invitation letter. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, just their name, where they are inviting you stay (address) and possibly a copy of their ID card.
Chris *********************
@Brandon ***********
for my visa, copy of wife's ID card, and passport, and invertation letter,

here you find invitation letter example:
