Does a stamp for overdue 90-day reporting affect my future visa or entry into Thailand?

Hi everyone, I’m on a Non-B visa for the last five years. Unfortunately, my 90-day report was overdue by one week. Immigration fined me 2,000 THB and put a stamp in my passport.

Does this stamp affect anything — my passport, future visa extensions, or any other countries’ visas?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user recently received a 2,000 THB fine and a stamp in their passport for an overdue 90-day report while on a Non-B visa. They inquired about the implications of this stamp on future visas, extensions, and entry into other countries. Responses confirm that the stamp is simply a reminder of the overdue report and does not affect future visa extensions or entries to Thailand or other countries. It's suggested to maintain timely reporting to avoid similar issues in the future.

Set a daily alarm in your phone starting at day 75, 15days before due. Submit online a few times, if not approved go to immigration 5 days before just in case some issue requires time to fix.

Do similar for Visa renewal, 2-3 months before due to ensure banking ok, and another 1month before due so you have lots time to fix any issues

Phone calendar alarms are great!

Some companies do the 90 day for their employees. Anyway try to see if hr would do the forthcoming ones. And if 6 days, you should go back to immigration and state your case. Don't accept being taken advantage of

Will this affect entry into other countries? As this may be viewed as not following a country’s immigration rules. Just curious

Just so everyone is clear what we're talking about, this is what a failure to file a 90 day report on time stamp looks like in your passport.

It is NOT an overstay stamp, it does NOT affect you in any way at all when you enter/exit, get a new extension, go buy a new visa at a consulate, nothing. It just says you didn't file a report on time and took the 2000baht fine

@Tod ********
thank you so much but I was late only 6 days 😞

If that's the case
@Honest *****
shouldn't have gotten a fine then. 😕 That you didn't know the rule OR question them about it, sadly is on you.

Still won't affect anything

And just so you know the window to apply is from 2 weeks before the due date down until 1 week after the due date <- that means for in person reporting you have THREE WEEKS to file a 90 day report

@Tod ********
is the 2 before and one after only for in person or also online?
Tod *********
@Johnny ******
more and more offices are allowing online reporting from 2 weeks before down until 1 week BEFORE the due date <- that means you only have a one week window to file online.

I think they are following that so that if it's denied, you still have time to get to the office and apply in person without running past the over due time

@Honest *****
your 90 day report had to be overdue by more than one week, because you can apply for a 90 day report from 2 weeks before the due date until exactly one week after the due date <- meaning that once it's 8 days overdue you get the fine 😉
Tod *********
Doesn't affect anything, it's only a stamp saying you missed filing a 90 day report and got a 2000baht fine. Won't affect your extensions, entry/exits to the country, NOTHING at all.

Thousands of people all over the country have stamps like that in their passport. It's only a reminder from the immigration office you need to 'learn how to count' 😛

i dont agree, at the moment with the new rules and all we don’t know for sure, its up to the officials

Before a overstay didn’t matter but now its counting when deside if you get a visa exemption or not

You can "not agree" all you want, but I'm telling you that you're 100% WRONG and I'm not gonna let you scare monger people with bad advice 😮 🙁

Failing to file a 90 day report on time is NOT overstay, it has NOTHING to do with your current extension and is only a fine for not filing a 90 day report within the window you're allowed to do it (from 2 weeks before the due date until 1 week after the due date)

It does NOT affect, entry, extensions, ANYTHING, not one thing visa related at all.

Even says on the TM47 it has nothing to do with extensions. 🙂

Nothing personal at all against you
@Henrik **********
, sorry my comment came out so harsh. My apologies 🙂

It's just you're way off base as far as whether a failure to file a 90 day report fine stamp affects you in any way.

The new rules / changes they've made have nothing to do with anyone filing 90 day reports, only about people repeatedly entering visa exempt. The two are completely unrelated.

maybe you didn’t understand what i mean, English is not my native language

I just said all can change, before overstay didn’t mean anything but now it does

Now failing 90 day report doesn’t mean anything but tomorrow?????

I think you're mixing up 2 very different statuses... this new overstay hype is about tourists doing visa runs. Being late on a 90 day report is for people with long-term visas and only involves a fine. And yes I've experienced it. No big whoop - calm down.

@Chad ********
yes today

It might surprise you but rules do change

This can change to so why risk it???

I will bet you people who didn’t care about overstaying before regret that now
