May I know which embassy is easier for DTV? Vientiane or Savannakhet? I plan to drive across the border for the soft power option (cooking classes)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the ease of obtaining a DTV visa at the Thai embassies in Vientiane and Savannakhet. Comments highlight that both consulates have similar requirements, but Vientiane may have longer appointment wait times compared to Savannakhet. Users are encouraged to make online appointments prior to their visit, and there are inquiries regarding the applicant's current visa status and travel history.

Please report back your results. Have not seen reports of anyone getting the DTV visa with cooking classes.

And have you taken vehicles into Laos before from Thailand?

What visa, if any, do you now have in Thailand?

What is your passport nation?

Do you have a recent history of staying in Thailand with varied visa exempt entry, extensions among other Thai Visas ?

BOTH consulates are almost the exact as far as requirements.

Remember you have to make an appt at either consulate online BEFORE you go there or you don't get in the gate to apply.

Vientiane is booked until the middle of Sept (or it was yesterday) but savannakhet had openings next week to book

they are opening last-minute appointments in Vientiane Embassy (marked as -Additional) and it's easy to get one.

yep on certain days,

keep an eye out for them

Usually they open them up more for Thursday and Friday where you have to stay in Vientiane until Monday or Tuesday the next week 🙂 )
