Which country's embassy is more flexible and convenient for the non-residents to apply dtv from your experience?

Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia

I am a Burmese citizen living in Thailand.

Which country would be a better fit for me?

And please tell me how many days do I have to wait for the visa approval.

Thanks so much in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion highlights experiences of Burmese citizens applying for Thai DTV visas at embassies in Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia. Responses suggest that Vientiane and Savannakhet in Laos have a processing time of about 3 working days, while Cambodia takes longer at around 5 working days. Many participants noted that Cambodia is a favorable choice, despite the slightly longer wait. For Vietnam, Saigon has an easy application process but requires a prior appointment and a comprehensive bank statement. Overall, while each embassy has its pros and cons, Cambodia seems to be recommended by several contributors for its reliability and transparency in processing.

There are currently a LOT of Burmese applicants in Laos, particularly Savannakhet. While there are not any additional requirements for them, from what I've heard, they are scrutinized a little more compared to citizens of wealthier countries.

Vietnam (Saigon) was very easy except for the appointment thingy. The only thing they ask and some others don't are 6 months of bank transactions printout (as opposed to just the final balance or 1 month as in some other embassies). But I haven't heard of any rejections in Saigon yet.

You need to book an appointment to apply.

BOTH Vientiane & Savannakhet have mandatory appt booking online to get in the gate and have the same processing time <- 3 working days counting the day you apply.

example; apply monday morning, get the passport back wednesday afternoon, apply thursday morning, get the passport back monday afternoon

TONZ of burmese apply for visas at both of those consulates,

I don't think they're given any more scrutiny than other nationalities,

you meet the requirements, you get the visa, you don't meet them, you don't get the visa.

Those officers aren't wanting to deny you, they want you to meet the requirements

you go to the website of the thai consulate IN Vietnam and see if China is on the list of "extended processing" or not. If they're not on that list you can apply there

I'm sure that if you have all the requirements, doesn't matter which Embassy. Check and contact first with the different embassies about the requirements of each one, because some of they are changing.

Everyone's situation is completely different and all embassies have a list of requirements on their website. You can search the group to see other people's experiences at individual embassies but their situation is different than yours. Doing your own research will give you much better answers.

Anonymous participant There are many people who already did in the group. Just scroll and read. No one would have gone to all the embassies to rank them so just read people's experiences and choose one.
