TDAC: Country I boarded and flight number …. Spain or my Layover France? 🙏
Answer summary
When filling out the Thailand Departure Card (TDAC), you should list the country where your last flight to Thailand originated before arrival. This is typically the final leg of your journey, meaning if you boarded your flight to Thailand in France after a layover from Spain, France would be the country to list. It's important for consistency with airline manifest records and Thai immigration processes.

Here's the gig! You should list the country/city where your flight to Thailand actually departs from — your last departure point, not where you originally began your journey.
In plain terms:
If you flew Toronto → Seoul → Bangkok → Origin of flight = Seoul, South Korea
If you flew Vancouver → Tokyo → Chiang Mai → Origin of flight = Tokyo, Japan
Why Thailand does it this way
Thai Immigration cares about:
where you physically boarded the aircraft that entered Thailand
health, immigration, and routing control
airline manifest consistency
Their system matches:
TDAC entry
airline arrival manifest
immigration scan
Those always reference the last international airport before Thailand.
Summary (easy rule)
Origin of flight = the airport/country of your final leg into Thailand.
It’s the equivalent to the old arrival card and the details should be where you arrive from which in your case is the layover in France so enter the details of the flight you enter Thailand on. Deep down it doesn’t matter but best to get things correct
Robert Ward nope. It's where you boarded to start your flight. But actually, they accept both. Though if you are saying you're coming from UK then tell them you boarded in a different country it might look a bit odd.
Bent Sennenwaldt you can write that if you want but it doesn't alter the fact he's already said he's in Spain and so he's boarding and coming from Spain. They accepted my TDAC with my UK location and my departure flight. My delhi transit flight number changed in Delhi so putting that number telling them I was flying from India, not UK, would have been pointless.
Ian Morrison if he boarded the flight to Thailand in Spain that's where the flight originated and where he's resident and first boarded. If the connecting flight is transit, he won't be disembarking and entering France then checking back in. It doesn't ask about landing but boarding to leave for Thailand. It's up to you to decide if "boarding" is where you started your journey in the country of departure on your ticket, or if they want your landing info. I put where I boarded. My transit flight had to be changed to a diferent flight number due to missed connection so it would have been wrong number if I'd put that.
