TLDR : Answer Summary
You can typically renew your retirement visa up to 45 days before its expiration date. Some offices may allow a renewal up to 30 days in advance. It's crucial to avoid applying late to prevent any fines. In case your visa expires on a weekend, you may apply the following Monday without incurring an overstay fine, as it would be waived due to the holiday. Nevertheless, it is advisable to renew as early as possible.

I believe you can do it upto 45 days in advance bud

Seeing as your actual stamp expires on a weelend (Oct 2nd is a Saturday) you could "in theory" show up on Monday the 4th and apply for your next year extension without getting an overstay fine (but you would get a stamp that said overstay fine waived due to holiday/closure).
The real question is WHY would you wait and go that late 😉 If you meet the requirements now, get after it.

You're cutting it a bit short leaving it this late

It depends on your office. Some allow 45 days, some 30 beforehand. You can’t apply late or you’ll be fined.
