What do I need to include in the bank letter for my Non-O visa extension in Thailand?

Have a CW appointment on Monday morning (21/11) to obtain my first 1 year extension to my first 90 day Non-O based on retirement (thx for help getting me to this point ✌️).

Having researched the group (and excellent ‘advisory’ charts) I think I have a handle on all the necessary documents except the ‘bank letter’. I did get the attached transaction history showing continuous balance for the previous 2 months and will update my passbook on the application day, but got a blank look at the bank when I asked for a ‘bank declaration letter’ - any advice or examples of this please? TIA 🇹🇭❤️

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is preparing for their appointment to obtain a one-year extension on their Non-O visa based on retirement. They have prepared most documents but are unclear about the 'bank letter' needed. Comments suggest that the bank letter should include the account holder's name, account number, balance, and date. Others recommend asking for the letter in Thai or simply requesting a letter for immigration purposes.

If the Thai staff don't understand you could ask for it in Thai

หนังสือรับรองจากธนาคารฉบับจริง

or write that down or print it on a piece of paper if your pronunciation is as bad as mine ;)

I made a deposit in my account, updated bank book (copied pages) and requested the letter. It took ten minutes. All done in the morning as I had an afternoon appointment, same day.

Thank you all (again) 🙏

I find simply asking for a letter for immigration does the trick

the bank letter is just a 6 or so line letter that has your name, the account number the date and the balance of that account on the date they wrote the letter

you can get it at the bank downstairs in the gov't complex, they'll type it up for you,

The bank letter is valid for 7 days, update your bank book and make a copy of it the day you apply for the extension 🙂

Please can you confirm this? Until now, Bangkok Bank downstairs in the government complex Chaeng Watthana would do this type of letter for me at once. It usually took not more than 10 minutes. And then I could go back immediately to the Immigration Office and apply the same day for a O Visa retirement extension. But I have read somewhere that the bank now asks you to come back to pick up the letter in 5 days or even more, 7 days. Is that true?

Thank you very much

you are confusing TWO separate things the bank does for people. The "standard bank letter" they can write on the spot like they always could. the "year transaction detail print out" <- that more and more offices are requiring can take up to 5 days to get as they only keep 6 months of transaction history on file (at least that's what Bangkok Bank tells people)

SO you go ORDER the year detail transaction history and when you go back in 5 days to pick it up you get the bank letter written then. OR you get the transaction history print out from your bank and then when you're at C/W you just get the standard bank letter written by the branch there.
