TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is inquiring about whether to obtain a re-entry stamp before traveling back to the UK, as they have a marriage visa renewal due shortly after returning to Thailand. Several community members advise that getting a re-entry permit is necessary to avoid starting the visa renewal process over again upon return. Additional comments highlight the importance of managing immigration requirements and suggest checking local regulations.

I think OP got the information for him to make his own decision. Pick the best way based on your own criteria. Safe travels.

So in reality I will only loose 8 days so is there really any need to get a re-entry that's what I need to establish, money already seasoned ?

, totally up to you. If you don't get a re-entry permit, you need to go through again from an in-country visa to a 1-year extension from scratch. This means adding a couple of visits to immigration and 2000 thb fee for an initial visa, some for preparing documents, etc.

and you must get a TM30 within 24 hours of your return

Get a re-entry permit if you plan to get another Extension of Stay otherwise you'll be starting over

Yes. If you don't have a re-entry stamp your extension is gone the day you leave and you need to start over from the beginning

You go to the immigration office that issued your extension to apply for a re-entry permit. Or you can also apply for one at the airport when you leave on the international flight. (You need to check in advance if you leave internationally from not major airports.)

Here is the common requirements list for a re-entry permit. You may want to check with your local immigration office for detail.
